The Song of Ruth

I heard the audio cunneda did called "Surrender." late last night. What he shared was out of the book of Ruth which happens to be one of my FAVORITES from the old testament. I just loved the way cunneda focuses on the aspect of surrender that so surrounds this story about Ruth the moabite. I would  ENCOURAGE all who read this blog to earnestly listen to this  audio. (They are all a real uplift and blessing!) You can click on, Episode 9 Surrender, on  the podomatic player to the right. I will also post a song from the messianic music of Lamb who I have enjoyed immensely since 1978. It comes from their Lamb favorites album called, The Song Of Ruth.

What I have so admired about the story of Ruth is how it also correlates with our own redemption (Those of us gentiles redeemed by Yehshua) Ruth was a pagan gentile who after her and her sister Orpahs husband Mahlon and Chilion died, (Naomi's two sons) not only rejected that way of life by going with Naomi her mother in law who went back to her own land of Bethlehem, (Where our Savior Yeshua was born) but made the declaration that Naomi's God Yahweh is her own God. And Naomi's people her own people. It was from the line of David that she was the grandmother of that Christ came through. ISN'T THAT AMAZING!!!! Meditate and chew on that for a while.

There is so much I am leaving out so I will post the scriptures below for you to read. Cunneda goes into more detail further on after Naomi and Ruth arrive in Bethlehem, but my own thoughts in posting this has much to do with how those of us who are
" gentiles"   (wild branches) have been grafted in through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. This is due to the love of Creator, Abba Father for those of us in the world who were outside and cut off from the covenant with His people we know as the Jews. It was because of their disobedience that made way for us gentiles to be grafted in. These original branches that were cut off will have the opportunity to be grafted back in these last days before the return of Messiah Yeshua Jesus. (Read Romans 11)

For those who chose not to follow Yehshua out of love, as Ruth did out of her love for Naomi, then you would be likened unto Ruth's sister Orpah  who left after Naomi said they were both free to go back to their mothers house. (Naomi strongly encouraged them both to go back so they could get husbands and have children.) I love how cunneda brings up how Ruths sister is never mentioned after that. So will it be for all who turn away and reject Christ, as if they were no more.

Click on the player below  so you can hear, " The Song Of Ruth."  by Lamb (Before you do, make sure you scroll down to the bottom and pause the Jamendo player under the Instrumental heading)

When you hear the song and read the account of Ruth in the scriptures I posted below it will give you a bigger picture and reality of what a marvelous woman Ruth was. So are all His lambs who have forsaken the world to follow Christ.

Ruth

Now it came to pass in the days when the judges ruled, that there was a famine in the land. And a certain man of Bethlehem judah went to sojourn in the country of Moab, he, and his wife, and his two sons. And the name of the man was Elimelech, and the name of his wife Naomi, and the name of his two sons Mahlon and Chilion, Ephrathites of Bethlehem judah. And they came into the country of Moab, and continued there. And Elimelech Naomi's husband died; and she was left, and her two sons.
And they took them wives of the women of Moab; the name of the one was Orpah, and the name of the other Ruth: and they dwelled there about ten years. And Mahlon and Chilion died also both of them; and the woman was left of her two sons and her husband. Then she arose with her daughters in law, that she might return from the country of Moab: for she had heard in the country of Moab how that the LORD had visited his people in giving them bread. Wherefore she went forth out of the place where she was, and her two daughters in law with her; and they went on the way to return unto the land of Judah. And Naomi said unto her two daughters in law, Go, return each to her mother's house: the LORD deal kindly with you, as ye have dealt with the dead, and with me. The LORD grant you that ye may find rest, each of you in the house of her husband. Then she kissed them; and they lifted up their voice, and wept. And they said unto her, Surely we will return with thee unto thy people.
And Naomi said, Turn again, my daughters: why will ye go with me? are there yet any more sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands?
Turn again, my daughters, go your way; for I am too old to have an husband. If I should say, I have hope, if I should have an husband also to night, and should also bear sons; Would ye tarry for them till they were grown? would ye stay for them from having husbands? nay, my daughters; for it grieveth me much for your sakes that the hand of the LORD is gone out against me. And they lifted up their voice, and wept again: and Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave unto her. And she said, Behold, thy sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law. And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me.When she saw that she was stedfastly minded to go with her, then sh e left speaking unto her. So they two went until they came to Bethlehem. And it came to pass, when they were come to Bethlehem, that all the city was moved about them, and they said, Is this Naomi? And she said unto them, Call me not Naomi, call me Mara: for the Almighty hath dealt very bitterly with me. I went out full and the LORD hath brought me home again empty: why then call ye me Naomi, seeing the LORD hath testified against me, and the Almighty hath afflicted me? So Naomi returned, and Ruth the Moabitess, her daughter in law, with her, which returned out of the country of Moab: and they came to Bethlehem in the beginning of barley harvest.
